I don't know how much it's making the news, but it's been a regular party over here the past couple days. One of the big insurgent groups that's been trying to get into the mainstream politics of Iraq has either blown up or imploded. So there's been a huge amount of attacks lately, and luckily few soldiers are getting hurt in the process. But for us, espicially with our sector, it's been poppin around here the last cople of days.
And I'm about to throttle the major (what is it with this deployment and majors?) who's decided, today, to start learning how to use the main computer system we all work on. 12 months into the deployment, and he decides to learn how to do stuff (and fucking things up in the process). So while I'm busy keeping on top of an immense amount of activity, every few mintues I have to drop what I'm working on and go answer one of his inane questions (as in, if an E1 private asked me one of these questions, I'd smoke his ass for being stupid). I applaud any officer's attempts to know what the hell is going on, but there's time for everything.
And more wonderful news. Hopped onto the internet yesterday and clicked on my favored porn site and what do I get? A blocked notice. This is on my laptop in my room, turns out that the wireless provider is starting to block porn sites now. We'll see how aggresive they get about it, but thank the Gods I'm getting out of here (relatively) soon.
Which, by the way, is onlyu 60 days away now. Not that I'm keeping track (past seconds anyway).
