[ 1. The day starts out... pretty damn early for Dean, actually. Then again he's gotten maybe three hours of sleep and was kinda bored just sitting around and not doing anything when he could actually be getting shit done and getting his conversation with Cas out of his head. So if you're out and about in Mayfield from early morning until sometime ( Read more... )

Can I help you, sir?

[Standing behind the display counter, that's filled with all sorts of delicious looking treats (she didn't bake them so don't worry), stands Tonks. She's wearing a smock over her dress. She doesn't look happy to be there, either. No one asked her if she wanted to be a baker!]

[ And Dean stands there in the doorway, staring at everything with the appreciative look of a man who knows his baked goods.

This is a fairly accurate assessment of him, though. It takes him a moment to look up to Tonks, a crooked grin coming across his face. ]

How's your apple pie?

Uh-oh or yay imwotchingyou March 20 2011, 03:04:44 UTC
I didn't bake it, mind you, so it's alright.

[At least when compared to a newly popped up petrol station, the apple pie is very very good. Tonks hadn't sampled it but the point remains.]

Would you like a slice?

Possibly yay. outtahell March 20 2011, 03:23:41 UTC
[ Dean will be the judge of that. Apple pie is his thing. So he comes in and up to the display counter, eyes scanning everything. ]

Biggest one you can give me.

Would you like a cup of coffee to go along with that?

[Tonks moves over and gets the pie out from the display counter. It is full of delicious looking treats such as pie, muffins, breads, etc. She's not been brave enough to try to make any of it herself.]

So are you new in town?

[Tonks asks as she picks up a serving knife. Her fingers go a bit butter on her. Soon he serving knife falls to the floor but not before a valiant attempt at catching it by Tonks. She curses before getting a new knife. She cuts a big slice of pie and sets it on the counter along with a fork.]

Think I just found my favorite shop in town, damn. Sure, and make it black.

[ He observes her for a moment, before his attention is devoted to what's on display. It all looks so good, he wishes he could buy everything. Then again he has like a pound of cookies back home that his not!daughter made, and he really doesn't need more sweets. ]

Newish, I guess. Been spending the past week or so checking the place out. You?

[ There's a wince with the clang of the knife, though it's sympathetic in Dean's own way. His fingers have given out on him on more than one occasion when doing pretty trivial things, but they reach for the fork and plate with that grin on his face still and a "thanks" said before he sticks a large piece of the slice into his mouth. ]

Alright.

[Coffee. It should have been tea, thought Tonks. But if anything should've been, she might not be in Mayfield. She walks over to the coffee pot and picks up a white cup. Tonks fills it and sets it on the counter, mercifully without spilling a drop.]

I guess I'm newish too, less than a month. This bloody town. There I was, sleeping on the couch and the next thing I know, I'm falling out of bed into a very rude awakening. I'm not even a real baker. This town just decided that I'd be good at that.

[She makes a little hand gesture to emphasize her point.]

[ Unfortunately, Dean thinks tea is gross and girly, and has probably been drinking coffee since he was old enough to change his brother's diapers. He can, however, agree that he'd rather not be in Mayfield right now. ]

I dunno, you're doing a good job of keeping shop, near as I can tell. [ He toasts her wordlessly in thanks for the coffee. ] Place made me a construction worker, which isn't far off from what I was doing before I woke up here. Town still sucks ass, though.

[Tea is not gross and girly. It's British.]

Thanks but I'd rather be Auroring.

[She sighs as she says that. Tonks misses her job. She picks up the dropped serving knife and the one used to cut Dean his slice of pie. Tonks drops them into the sink. She'll clean them later.]

This reminds me. How do you feel about fourth walling? XD outtahell March 21 2011, 23:25:53 UTC
[ And Dean is so American that it hurts. ]

Auroring?

[ That earns her a confused look, though Dean is sipping his coffee and trying to think why that... kind of sounds familiar. Whatever, he'll figure it out later. Cutting off another piece of pie, he rolls his shoulders in a shrug before he answers. ] At the time? Did a lot of carpentry and engine repairs, various jobs where I was staying. Usually and here, in Mayfield? Hunting the supernatural.

I catch dark wizards or I did, before I was plucked from my comfortable spot on the sofa and then brought here. I love... loved my job.

[Somehow or another, Tonks keeps from slamming her forehead into the display counter. She can't even use magic or morph, it's all so frustrating.]

What kind of supernatural things?

[His occupation earns Dean a very skeptical look.]

[ If she did slam her head down, Dean would give her a sympathetic pat. As it is, he can only stare for a moment before clearing his throat while he tries not to go what the hell I'm talking to someone who sounds like they came out of Harry Potter.

Skepticism he can deal with, though. ]

You're giving me that look when you say you go after dark wizards?

[ He takes another bite of pie, but shakes his head and swallows it down before talking again. ]

Ghosts, vampires, werewolves, rugaru, shtriga...

I was an Auror, that's what you call a dark wizard catcher. It's the best job really.

[Her posture shifts a bit and Tonks crosses her arms across her chest.]

Why d'you have to go after werewolves and vampires?
