[ 1. The day starts out... pretty damn early for Dean, actually. Then again he's gotten maybe three hours of sleep and was kinda bored just sitting around and not doing anything when he could actually be getting shit done and getting his conversation with Cas out of his head. So if you're out and about in Mayfield from early morning until sometime in the late afternoon, you may see him roaming around the town's various stores. He stops by the hardware store, the supermarket, various other seemingly random places--his haul at the end of the day is even more random. He gets what should be a metric ton of salt, varying from canisters typically seen in the kitchen to the gigantic bags of rock salt. There's also beer and a lot of baking goods, since he figured Himeno cleaned out the kitchen in her cookie spree.
He also gets a lot of paint, some tacky throw rugs, and an iron fireplace poker, somewhere, god knows he's been to so many stores today he can't remember what came from where. And then the rest of the day in town is spent scrounging up silver.
2. When he finally gets home, those in the neighborhood and his housemates will get to see him tearing the house apart. The door strips all get torn up--all of them in the house, even to bedrooms--before they're replaced, once he's gotten salt underneath them and is certain that it's in an uninterrupted line beneath the metal. He also spends a lot of time sitting on the front steps and painting devil's traps on the underside of the tacky rugs so he can put them down at the doors leading into the house.
All in all, he looks pretty bizarre, even by Mayfield's standards.
3. And it's night time when he finally, finally, stops being a paranoid son of a bitch and kicks back with a beer and the phone, the sounds of scribbling coming over the mouthpiece as he writes something down. ]
So, can anybody tell me about all of the shit that's happened in this place? Aside from the highway, what else? [ He's in his investigative mode, as he tries to make a safe base of operations in 948 Beulah, and a safe place for his... family. They're still strangers, but he feels responsible for them. ] Y'know. Monsters, out-of-place natural disasters, shit that the town's thrown out since people started arriving.
