SHOCKER!!

Oh my God!! So I JUST found out from one of my sports shows that Chris was kicked off of American Idol last night! What the heck is America thinking here? I am shocked, SHOCKED!!! How can someone that talented with that kind of voice EVER get kicked off?!?!? I cannot believe this went down, I mean the guy is...Um....Yeah. Truthfully, I don't know. I've never watched an episode of Idol, my family doesn't watch Idol, and I honestly don't think I will ever watch this show until it (hopefully) goes the way of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Also I'm just hoping that I heard the guy's name right. All I know is American Dreamz had this show pegged exactly as things are. And yeah, when a nation probably does vote for some overrated pop singer more than it votes for its president then it's just pathetically sad as a whole. Besides, like I told a friend earlier when he complained about one of his other favorites getting voted off, if they have any real talent someone'll toss a contract their way. It's just the nature of the beast.

Now to get a couple of disclaimers out of the way here. First of all, no I can't sing. I've never tried to do anything to convince people otherwise, and I'm perfectly fine with the fact that I don't sing. And granted, I'm not a registered voter in the US. Now that all that's out of the way, I can continue my rant because I'm also not voting for this garbage. While I have very little faith in the people who run for office in this country, I have an idea that more people should probably be voting for, as Jon Stewart calls "The Decider" (President) and all the king's men or women. Also, this is just me taking a stab in the dark but do they charge for the "privilege" of voting for these people? Hell, aside from the Clarkson chick I don't know who any of these people are and the only reason I know her is because MSN thinks it's something I should know. To paraphrase Ron White, MSN has raped my eyes. Unwanted information has been forcibly thrusted into the unwitting range of my peripheral vision, and now I wonder where Dad has hidden his new power drill so that I might dislodge it from my mind. The other thing I want to know is after these people become the sweethearts of America, how many of the pre-packaged CD's actually get sold? That's something I'd be curious to find out...if I cared enough to research.

At this point, I'm only mildly sorry at this point if I've offended any Idol lovers who read this but I've had my fill of this and I had to vent somewhere, and that means it's going to be placed right here for me to rant. The show is/was a good idea at the time, but yeah. Whenever the Empire has that much of a foothold in American culture, there's an issue. I also want to suggest that American Dreamz is really something that should be seen. Now to be truthful, I really thought that after two seasons of this thing the people would have come to their senses and gotten off the bandwagon but apparently that's not the case. I understand the draw and power that reality television can hold over people, but at what point does it become enough? So how much longer does this show have a pulse? Well, I guess that's the beauty of it. To quote Martin Tweed, "It's time to vote, America".
