Graduation, catch-up, and comics

All right, so far this weekend has definitely rocked. Been up to the U twice in two days because friday night Amanda calls me up and tells me she and our friend Bridget are coming down to visit. So that sounds like fun and I come up after hitting the comic shop to pick up yet another shipment of books I had waiting for me. After that we go into mad cleanup mode with Phil's apartment cuz...yeah, Mario didn't really help out all that much with the living room from what I saw when I got there. But with our powers combined (Yeah, totally threw a Captain Planet reference at you guys) we managed to get Phil's place cleaned out just before the 6:00 deadline and after that Bridget showed up. A nice night of talking, getting caught up with everyone ensued before I headed back home for the night. 'Course before I headed out Joyce invited me to the graduation, and after another chat w/ Dad I got up yet again for another trip.

Yeah, saturday morning I got up before noon (8:00) and got up there in time for Joyce's graduation. Ceremony looked pretty familiar to what we went through last year, and I managed to hook up w/ all the critters in the forest again and we all watch Joyce get her masters'. Afterwards we had a nice lunch at D&W before heading back to Joyce's to crash, and I headed back to the comic shop because I was told there was a sale going on. Didn't find anything with the sale, but went in and found it was "Free Comic Day" where you get, surprise surprise, a free comic book. They also had some of my stuff on backorder but that hadn't come in. Asked if they knew what happened to an issue that I get and they tell me "Well, we GOT the shipment, but they're all damaged. But I can lend you the book to read". So yeah, I've got a damaged copy of the book (Lower left corner's kinda bent up) on loan until mine actually shows up. It's really nice when you basically pay someone's mortgage sometimes. lol

Also went out to Wal-Mart and saw my other friend Sarah who told me I made her bf jealous because I called her cell phone and left a message. Yeah, that's kinda funny. What guy in his right mind would be jealous of ME? Oh well, it was still kind of amusing to me. Grabbed some Jimmy John's and waited for Ryan's graduation to end, and then we made a trip BACK to the same restuarant that we ate at for Joyce's graduation lunch with Ryan's family in tow. Ryan's family? Everyone seemed pretty cool, especially his Dad. Ended up talking to him for quite a bit of the time up there today. Finally we get out of there as quickly as we can because we got there as the restaurant was technically closing but they served us anyway. Very nice of them, I must say. Then headed back home cuz by this point everyone was starting to get kind of tired.

So overall let's see what we have here. Five friends graduating, spending time with people I haven't seen in forever, seeing Jessi for a nice little time, and eating a lot of good food. Yeah, I'd say this day was spent in a most positive manner, especially since I didn't get to enjoy my own graduation at all after the ceremony ended. Yeah, still a little pissed about that, but meh. Could've been a worse time I guess, but this year was definitely much better. Over the last couple of days I've sent in something like 6 resumes to various places so hopefully I'll be hearing something back from them pretty soon. It'd be nice to get out there and actually do something with my life. *shrugs* And so with that, I say congratulations to the class of 2006, and I hope everything works out well for you. And with that, I bid you all good night.
