(Hokay, so. Not long after their last in-game conversation, Jarvis and Pepper got unstuck and went home. At that point, Jarvis took an opportunity to pursue an idea he had in the inn, just in time to surprise Pepper with it.

And then some time passed, and Pepper got around to planning the next Stark Industries benefit... which produced a surprise of its own.)
