Here, Inn, have a celery-wearing Time Lord again. He's not very happy at all, in fact, he looks to be quite distraught ( Read more... )

Eight had long ago abandoned his game of multi-lingual Scrabble, finding it rather difficult to play when people kept coming up and cahtting (not that he was complaining of course, but it was true nonetheless) and was instead skimming the pages of a book he had memorized centuries ago.

In actuality, he's watching his younger self, biting at his cheek, and trying to ignore the nagging urge to go up and talk to him. This of course, will not work for very long and soon enough, he will find himself rising to his feet and approaching the younger Doctor.

"You don't look well," he states, coming to sit across from the other. "Something on your mind?"

Of course he knows full well what's wrong, he's just trying desperately not to.

It takes a moment for the blond Doctor to notice the older one across from him, "Something most certainly is."

Sorry, he's not exactly the easy talking sort, but give him a moment to warm up and he's sure to start up. "Though I'm quite sure you already have a decent idea."

Eight nods, it's a slight movement but should still be detectable by the younger Doctor. "I'm afraid I do."

He's not sure where to go from here, not sure if he wants to put himself in the line of fire really. All of this will, eventually, come back to him, there's no escaping that.

"Is there anything I can do?" The question is asked almost nervously, as if he's hoping for the other to say no but he feels obligated to offer no matter what.

"I've not a clue," Five states, almost helplessly. The images the Master brought up have been taunting him endlessly sense the conversation ended.

He shakes his head, "So many innocent people, all of them, gone. And Gallifrey..."

No, the narration isn't just tag-the-Doctor-with-Rose happy (though it's quite fun), she just thinks that Rose might be good to talk to, for Five. Considering she's the first person who got close to the Doctor after the Time War.

So here, Doctor. Have a blonde holding out a mug of tea, Jackie Tyler-style. Lots of sugar, lots of cream, and a little bit of Earl Grey.

The mug of tea held out in his general direction is nearly a little startling. He thinks his own cup away and accepts her proffered one, a little curious of its contents.

"Thank you," It's terse and short, but it's not her fault, and he's really trying to keep his emotions from lashing out upon her. "Are you feeling any better?" He can at least pretend that everything is just dandy with himself. Because really, how do you explain what he knows...

He tries the tea and is pleasantly surprised, rather fond of the taste it has.

Mum's tea always makes things better. All the water in Rose's body has probably been replaced with Jackie Tyler tea by now.

"Not really. I did math. I'm not fond of the answers I keep getting."

She sits down across from him.

"What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry to hear that," It's genuine, really.

Looking up to her he offers her a slight smile, "I suppose I could say the same thing, really. Did the math, but the answers were certainly not satisfactory. In fact, mine went wrong from the very equation."

Then again, anything that involved the Master most often did.

Martha Jones is still a little tipsy.

She may have had another Irish Coffee after she ran into Reid. She's cursing her ability to hold alcohol right at this moment, but stepping upstairs to sleep off her continued desire for irish Coffee seems like a good plan.

Martha's distracted on her way by the 5th Doctor. Maybe it's just a companion thing or maybe it isn't all that hard to tell, but she can see that something's... wrong.

She takes a seat next to him, flashing him a warm smile. "Hey there, Five."

Looking up from his tea, the Doctor gives a very small smile. Oh, he can tell something is different about the woman but he shrugs it off, trying to keep up with his emotions.

"Hello to you, too, Martha."

So far, she's probably his favorite companion at the Inn.

Martha leans against him only slightly. It's her way of being comforting without making a big show of it quite yet. One step at a time.

She doesn't ask if he's all right, because to her the answer seems fairly obvious. Instead, she places herself here in case he wants to talk or needs distraction. Well, she'll do either for him.

"Is that tea that you're drinking?" Martha glances at his cup with a tiny smile. "I think I'll have to join you if you don't mind. Sounds rather good at the moment."

Help to wash the alcohol through her system.

She gives him a look that she hopes he can understand, if you want to talk, I'm here is the message that they're trying to send.

Really, he's thankful that she doesn't ask. And it's for this that he might actually tell her once he can level up the will to do so.

"It is indeed. English tea with sugar and honey," And with that, he thinks her up a cup and offers it to her, "Rather simple, but I enjoy it well enough."

The Doctor sits quietly for a moment before eyes lift up to the woman leaning against him, "Life is so very fragile. It's so sacred and loved by all those who have it, yet it is so very, very fragile. It's a paradox, it's terrible..."

Don't mind him, he'll explain himself in due time.
