The Master turns to look at her - and freezes for a moment, his face expressionless as he sees the coat. Oh, he knows that coat, his hearts giving a little unexpected and not entirely pleasant jump when he sees it.
Just lovely. Dying in his arms just clearly wasn't enough...
This girl, however, doesn't seem to know him. This could actually be fun. He puts on his best charming smile - which is, of course, very, very charming - and starts toward her. "Hello."
"Yes," he answers simply, and walks over to take a seat beside her, seeming perfectly at ease, perfectly friendly. "I think... I may have just died. I wouldn't know, I've never done it before."
"Really? Me too." It's a casual toss-in. No need to be too serious about it. "Don't worry about it, this is a nice enough place. Lots of food, tea, everything's free."
She laughs a little. "No, I don't expect it is. It wouldn't be for most people. I mean, I guess someone might think of a hotel for the afterlife, but they'd have to be pretty odd, I think."
He frowns after a moment, looking thoughtful. The drums are gone, but something's...
After a moment he grips his wrist, thumb pressed to the pulse point, and a slow smile spreads across his face. "Hearts are still beating. How about that?"
"April Dorian." She's mostly big on eye-contact, so she keeps her eyes locked on his. It's a bit disconcerting, his gaze, but he seems pretty friendly, so she doesn't mind. "It's lovely to meet you."
"So, when and where are you from? This is a pretty odd place, people from all over, different times and universes..." She grins a little, thinking of the Doctor. She really can't help it. "I'm from New York, 1995. Originally."
"Well, hey there!" Someone who looks friendly enough, right? As in walking, breathing, and without a gun pointed at her, pretty much.

"Wonderful. Not what I was expecting..."
He hadn't expected much, though. Darkness. Silence. Something of the sort.

Odder than you, April?

Not a Time Lord, then, unless she pulled the same trick he had before his regeneration, when he escaped the Time War, or...
No. A thought pulls up a memory of the Doctor, and he smirks a little. There he is... One of his companions, of course. Lovely.
