Cormac looked at the clock again. Colin was due to arrive soon, and Cormac could not wait. He found himself missing the other man terribly, especially given that he'd been alone all Christmas. He understood that Colin had an evil boss, but he wished that they could have spent more time together. However, he had managed to get this afternoon off, giving him the whole day with Colin, and he only had practise for a couple of hours on Thursday and Friday even though there was a game Saturday. Normally he disapproved of less practise beforehand, but this time he was glad ( ... )

Cormac's question of whether or not Colin was okay made him pause. The only other person who usually took to asking him that was his mother, and sometimes Dennis (usually if he was dipping into egg nog, which only happened once a year ( ... )

Cormac snorted when Colin said it wasn't much of a walk. Colin didn't live too far from the Leaky, but from Cormac's that was quite a distance. No wonder he was so chilled. Cormac sidled closer and pulled Colin into him.

"Why would I not want you here? I'm very glad you're here now, too, even if I did have to wait. Just makes it better now." Cormac said, wondering if he sounded like an idiot or not. He kissed the top of Colin's head, and enjoyed their closeness. Between that and the warmth from the fire, Cormac was certain that Colin would warm up soon.

Colin tried not to grin too widely at Cormac's comment. It was nice to be wanted around; so much of the time, Colin felt more like a hassle than anything else. Perhaps it was the fact that he got so wrapped up in what he was doing, usually because it involved photography, that he had no idea which lines he'd crossed and why others were left feeling unimpressed with his actions.

Cormac didn't present that problem at all. The more time they spent together, the more comfortable things got. Colin didn't always know what to say, but Cormac seemed to understand more of what he meant. And that was something Colin had had trouble finding in another person ( ... )
