In other news ...
I totaled my car Tuesday afternoon. I was going through an intersection on a green light and t-boned a police SUV. He had his siren on (which I heard, but from what I thought was a different direction) and his lights (although he didn't have a light bar on top of his vehicle, just in his windows) and my view of the direction he was coming from was blocked by two lanes of heavy traffic.
We were both uninjured. His vehicle had a dented door. The report appears to put us both at fault, even though he told me repeatedly it was an accident, it was not my fault, the city should pay for everything, etc. Wish I had recorded it. I got checked out at Urgent Care to make sure I didn't have any internal bleeding, a necessary precaution since I take Warfarin. I'm fine. My titanium chest passed its first live test. My airbag did not deploy, which I'm thankful for- I'm not sure how much it could have damaged. I wasn't going very fast, anyway.
