Howdy, y'all!

Or, as the Irish-speaking folk might say, "Dia duit!"

'Tis the eve of my departure for the Emerald Isle, and I'm growing more and more excited with each passing hour. Not sure I'm going to be able to sleep much tonight, but must try so as to be more able to cope with luggage handling, Surly TSA Personnel, jet lag, etc. tomorrow. I want to be in top form for tomorrow evening, and not have to worry about laughing at inappropriate moments during the Heaney reading due to exhaustion-induced delirium.

Have enjoyed staying in Pearland with my darling April and her equally fabulous hubby. They've been so sweet to let me stay with them and to drive me to the airport tomorrow, especially since said airport is on the freakin' other side of the world Houston from Pearland. But it's still closer than Ft. Worth or Nac. So here I am.

I've left a copy of all my vital info (passport/license info, credit card and travelers cheque numbers, etc.) with April. If anything happens to me, talk to her. She has enough of my personal info to steal my identity and/or rob me blind, but I have a better chance of becoming America's Next Top Model than either of those things ever happening. I'd say I trust her like family, but the simple fact of it is that I trust April more than I would trust certain biological relatives. Blood may be thicker than water, but is it thicker than the Sonic Pineapple Milkshakes that bond us together in surrogate-sisterhood? I think not.

So anyway, yeah. I'm off tomorrow morning! For those of you who pray, say a good one for us! For those of you disinclined to participate in such activities, some good ju-ju would certainly be appreciated as well. I'll try to update from Dublin, but if I don't, I'll catch you all on the flip-side! "Slan agat!"
