Austin Entry #2

Nov 21, 2005 02:18

I went out with Brandon and some people from where I used to work (they relocated from CA to TX). Brandon had to work at 11pm so he left and I stayed. Kylie said they had to show me downtown. So they did.

I can't say I really was particularly impressed with "downtown". It reminded me of the San Diego gas lamp district with people maybe 4 or 5 notches lower on the "looks" scale. It was interesting to see how many clubs there were. A lot of them had signs saying, "No cover charge", with guys outside calling to people walking by, much like the games people at the fair, trying to lure people in. Ironically, we ultimately ended up at one of the few places WITH a coverage charge. I think I must still need some maturing because I was not too into sitting and watching people perform.

I did like the fact that they closed the roads so people could wander around and puke. They ought to get some herding dogs to direct people when 2am rolls around. heh.

View from Brandon's patio

I ventured to Starbucks and Randall's on my own. The boy who works there recognized me my second time there and tried to remember what I ordered. Too bad I was ordering something different. :p

I painted my nails. My hands are scary now. Rar.

Oh! Best thing ever! Brandon and I went to Fry's. I love Fry's! This guy told me to take a picture of his car. So I did.

See? Fry's! Yay! I walked past people saying a bit loud, "It's texas Fry's" ... lmao!

We went to a pizza place which had good, cheap pizza (i plan to go there again before i leave). This is Kylie. One of my ex-coworkers wife. He had to work so she came out with everyone else without him.

This is Brandon. He appears to have a vortex in him.

Ashish. :)

Tony. He had short hair when I first started working with him.

Brandon made the shot.

This band was having it's 20th anniversary or something. Every song was just like the other one they just played. The singer reminded me of 900CR from SBR.

I liked the lighting. I am dreaming of the 50mm 1.2 canon.

*scared*

It's ironic that I hate cigerettes and yet I got ever so excited to see one of these.

Tony kept taking pictures with my camera. Not my favorite thing but I did end up with a few funny ones.

Kirin. Tony took this. It's like a badge headshot or something ... if you remove the beer related thing in the background.

That's where we were. You can see the backside of the band.

Sniper.

Tony with beer.

Kirin with beer.

Kylie with beer and water.

Violin guy. We were at Maggie Mae's. The bass player picked up the scottish drum (i dunno what it's called) and I got all happy. I like that drum. I need to get back into music. I really do.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE! I LOOK LIKE SUCH THE BITCH!!! YES!! hahaha. Seriously. I was actually playing with my gum.

Tony took my camera again (the last picture was the beginning of that), so I stuck my hand in the picture.

This is where we spent most of our time and finished our evening (if you discount the guys who i scared away when we were walking to the car).

I like the idea of requesting songs and having these guys do fun covers. Guess what I requested.

Damn Aussies ... Tony requested that song, "I come from a land down under ..." ... and Kylie didn't seem to find that very amusing ... :p

Later she requested a green day song and told me not to tell Tony, so I'm guessing that was her revenge?

I tried to get them to play Safety Dance but they didn't. I guess we didn't tip enough.

This guy was so funny.

*smirk* (i have stuff to say but not in a public forum)

Kirin took my camera a few times but only to get pictures of me. Unfortunately this is the only one that sort of came out. There's one that is in focus but I look like a pig.

I like the group walking pictures.

These guys told me to take a picture of them just in case anything happens to them. (??) I did. Priceless shot if you ask me.
