Another assignment that I needed to do for my class involved emulating the
Bertillon mug shots. The most complicated part was getting the pictures taken (which was only complicated because I'd forget when people were over).
For me, these images are more silly than anything but the idea that opinions of my brother and
randonb could be formed just showing this images to strangers before they met the real people is intriguing. I showed Brehn these and he actually responded with repulsion and discomfort seeing my brother appearing as a criminal. It was too believable to him and so he did not like the image. He responded with amusement to the image of Brandon though (not hard to do considering the profile shot). I am contemplating making another with some of the goofy shots I got of Brandon.
I noticed, AFTER, I had updated all of the information about the "criminals" digitally that many of the classmates, who opted to do the same assignment, did not do the same even though the directions said to do so. Just for the record, the measurements for my brother are accurate and the ones for Brandon were borrowed from the first criminal on the flickr account I linked to above that was actually taller than 5 ft. 5, since I forgot to take measurements after taking the pictures. I found old type writer and stamp fonts. It was tedious going through and cloning out the handwriting that had been there before. I know I could have done more with the images to make them "realistic" but that wasn't the point of the assignment and I'm okay with how they look.
Check out the links. It's an interesting read and something you don't learn about in school.

Brandon
And no, I haven't taken a jumping picture of Brandon yet. I know, I'm slacking! :p
