I cannot believe the summer is virtually over. Fall semester begins on Monday, and I am still only half way through my second summer school course with Rio Salado. I am quite content with my summer wedding, because planning such an event while in school would have been unrealistic. Here is my schedule for ASU West:
ASB 353: Death & Dying Cross-Cultural Perspective (Mon 6:40pm - 9:30pm)
SBS 301: Cultural Diversity (Tue 6:05pm - 8:55pm)
REL 374: Witchcraft & Heresy in Europe (Online)
REL 381: Religion and Moral Issues (Online)
I am taking the two night classes so I am able to sleep in on my days off and avoid traffic on I-17. I am exactly half-way to graduation! Is it scary for me to say I do not know what I am doing after that? I will have a major in American Studies and a minor in Ethnic Studies. I am not really sure how that transposed.
Sophie and I moved in with my parents last week. It is a peculiar feeling living in this house again, but we are enjoying it. It is nice to be out of downtown and the weather is cooler up here. We are setting up the room next to ours for Ava. It will be fun to have a full house again! So much has changed in this area since I moved away, mostly for the better I think. I think we will be happy and safe living here. One of Jack's friends is renting my room in the condo from us, so that worked out fine.
My store just reopened this week from an overdue and stressful renovation. I like the new set-up, but it still feels awkward. It's basically transferring to another store. Starbucks has been in the media a lot lately about store closures and eliminating thousands of positions throughout the company. Sales have predictably dropped in my store, but for now I am not too worried about my job. I wake up at 3:00am for the commute, so I feel a bit exhausted by the time I get home. My goal is to find an occupation I enjoy after college. This month marks three years with Starbucks, three positions, and two stores.
Sophie is now 24 weeks. I get so excited for every OB appointment when I get to hear Ava's heartbeat. We have been so lucky for a relatively easy (and healthy!) pregnancy. Life is only going to get more exciting from here. Sophie is enrolled full-time in school this semester as well. I love that we are both striving towards something. We are busy, to say the least, but I feel more mature and responsible than ever.
Anyway, I could ramble on for hours, but homework awaits me.
