Vacation and Portable Electrionics
Well, we are on vacation in Hilton Head (or is that "on", since it's an island?) No, really, we can't afford that on our own -- It's with all of Kara's family (who are a great bunch). There will be numerous pictures forthcoming -- it's beautiful here, and the house is amazing.
I never mentioned here, despite good intentions, but Kara bought me an Apple bluetooth keyboard (for Valentine's Day) to go with my N800. The biggest limitation of the Nokia is text input. All of the "compact, portable" BT keyboards I looked into had significant (showstopping, for me) limitations (mostly the lack of a separate row of numbers, let alone function keys) and cost. The Apple keyboard doesn't fold up (though this makes it much more sturdy) but it easily fits in my bag, and is a joy to type on. And it paired with the Nokia fairly easily (took a few tries for some reason, but that seems to be a common problem with the N800). It is close enough to a laptop (in function) that I'm doing very well without one here.
ANYWAY, this is being posted with the Apple BT keyboard on my Nokia N800 via wireless, sitting in a 20' ceilinged great room surrounded by windows and trees. Yay vacation!
