Why did Disney only release The Fox and the Hound in fullscreen? Grump.

I'm almost too tired to prop my eyes open (got to go on a date tonight--yay, lilisonna and touchstone) but I remembered that I had forgotten (heh) to post a query about my Harry Potter DVDs.
