skirts

I made and finished a skirt on saturday, looked very nice and will be spiffy for saturday. Then I went to the fabric store looking for ostritch feathers, and saw that they had more of my dark maroon wool. When I bought it originally, I bought three yards, but the largest sized chunk was 5/8 of a yard. Imagine the headache in trying to pull a full skirt out of that mess. But I did, and it was finished.

And then I saw the new fabric. Two pieces, 1 3/8 and 1 5/8, which I bought. And then proceeded to rip out the center back seam of the skirt and insert three new panels. And played around with the hem for about an hour and a half, while half-watching forever knight episodes.

The panels are inserted, but now I have to somehow redistribute them on one quarter of the waistline--they do not lie right. But it will suffice for saturday.

It is a very full skirt now. Insert Big Grin here.
