What: DG escapes to draw
When: January 23nd, 7 AM.
So if anyone honestly expected her to stay in her bed she'd call them crazy. She'd spent several days in a coma, and then another day in the damned infirmary so they could 'watch her', and now she was out and dear God she'd never loved the outdoors more. Even though she

So it was that Rashel barely caught sight of Grace as the two had shadowed the princess to her selected spot. Both women were deadly, both women were friends, both woman often wondered why they volunteered for this.
DG appeared to have found a place to sit a draw. Why she felt compelled to try to sneak out and do this was anyone's guess. However, logic and DG rarely crossed paths.
Rashel settled in for a long time of waiting. They had a list of people, quite a few actually, who were allowed to approach and interact with the princess without any danger to her person. Glitch was one name up for much debate. (See section 9 of the training course.)
Grace only acknowledged Rashel with a flick of her eyes to pinpoint her position before she apparently settled in to keep the best view of the area as well.

Running a hand through her hair she let out a slow sigh, her eyes turning upwards to the clouds as she shifted in her makeshift lounge chair. She had gotten sleep last night but because of the uncomfortable positions she had found herself in, it wasn't completely restful, so now she was cranky.
Cranky, tired, and pissed off. Not a very good combination for any woman let alone DG.

His guards walked beside him, a fact of this life that he still was not used to. He had not taken their presence entirely for granted fifteen annuals before, and definitely not now. Not after everything.
Still, the three men; Tony, Daniel and Sam, they were smart and interesting as well as considerate and cunning. People he could speak to about various topics and get their actual opinions. If they had been anything less than what they were, he would have had them reassigned immediately.
There. His daughter, his youngest.
He switched direction, walking towards the chair where she was sitting. Sam grabbed a nearby chair, and silently handed it to the Consort as he moved to sit next to the girl sketching flowers. Ahamo nodded his thanks, then sat the chair down beside DG's, settling himself down in it while only making the barest of sounds. The Realm had certainly hones his ability to move silently when he wished.
"You still sketch?" His voice lilted in amusement and pride, she used to watch him when she had been small with her wide eyes. His eyes. Until he had given her a small sketchbook and a set of charcoals of her own.

With a hand at her heart she stared at the person beside her with almost terror in her eyes, she hadn't seen that coming. Maybe she shouldn't allow herself to become so engrossed in her sketching, that could have helped prevented the heart failure she was sure was to accompany this visit.
"Please never do that again. I think you just shaved ten years off of my life." DG announced as she pointed at him with a finger before snatching up her pencil and pointing in his direction, for extra emphasis on how badly he'd scared her.

The sheepish expression on his face eerily echoed the one he had seen more than once on his other daughter's face. "Sorry. I can't promise it won't happen again, but I'll do my best to avoid it."
He looked over at her sketch pad, and then up to the bird decorating a trio of flowers. "Your drawings have certainly improved over the years." Lips pulling back into a small smile, "Although, you could not draw stick figures forever I suppose."

"What have you been up to?" She questioned as she shaded in one final area of her drawing before putting it off to the side, her pencil finding its way into her ear.

Leaning in conspiratorially, he lowered his voice, "Nothing against stick figures, personally. Your mother can paint beautifully...now, but when we were younger she used to draw little caricatures in stick figures of the more stuffy members of the Court." Nostalgia tipped his statement, remembering the days when he and Lavender had both been young and carefree. Well, as carefree as a Crown Princess and a Slipper could be together with the advisors watching them closely.
"Debating whether or not to send Captain Cain to the Deadly Desert to do latrine duty for a month." The words were posed as a joke, but were half serious in all honesty. His daughter's suitor or not, the man had committed treason, but the main reason he had gained Ahamo's ire was his comments towards the Queen. He would not have pandered to that kind of insubordination when he had been in the military service in his own country. And technically the Guard fell under Ahamo's juristiction of being in charge of the O.Z.'s military, what little there was.
Soon he would no doubt pass on the duties to another, to Cain likely as not. But for now he was still his superior. In fact, after he relinquished the helm of the military to the other man, he would still have seniority in both years served and years alive.

"Stick figures are fantastic. Everyone can do them, which is why - they rock." DG informed as she smiled, attempting to imagine that form of her mother instead of the one that they knew now. She knew that her mother had been like her once, and but with time and duty she had changed because of what her people needed.
"I heard. You two - uh, have very strong personalities. Clash of the titans to say the least." With a nod of her head she twirled a finger across her page of paper, letting out a deep sigh of thought, wondering if the two of them could ever let go of that. Though she was curious as to why Wyatt had held a gun to her father, but she had figured Zero factored in somehow, but she wasn't sure she wanted to ask.
"Well I hope you don't, I'd be a little lonely."
