i've been watching lots of movies. brightpop's post about Wim Wenders reminded me that i should probably check him out as well. my movies folder is full of about 50gb of movies half of which have yet to be watched. i've been surprise by what i am able to find on bittorrent. yesterday i watched breathless, dawon had tried to get me to watch it but i fell asleep much like she did when i tried to get her to watch the thin red line.
i'm guessing the things that made it groundbreaking at the time are mostly lost on my generation having been co-opted and turned into cliches. and the allusions to humphrey bogart went over my head until i read about them. i suppose i need to watch some humphrey bogart movies now.
all that was really left for me to appreciate were the characters and atmosphere. honestly though, jean seberg alone was enough to carry my interest until the credits.
