I just watched the first episode of the new series of Doctor Who and it was damn good! I shouldn't be surprised as everyone's been raving about it for years BUT I've seen two of the Tennant Christmas specials and I really did not get the appeal. Frankly, I thought they were awful.

& a little more about the same. mostly spoilerless. )

Previous seasons of Doctor Who have been absolutely shit. Now that RTD has finally been ripped away from the helm, and Billie Piper and David Tennant have been packed off, finally we're getting something decent.

I think it speaks volumes that the best episode of the previous seasons was Blink - an episode which barely had the Doctor in it at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wasn't madly in love with the previous series! Almost everyone I know can't find fault with it at all & is wildly in love with David Tennant. It's bizarre.

I haven't seen the episode but that really does say a lot! I'd also guess that not using the Doctor much would allow for a slightly different & interesting format as well as the obvious point. :3

i tried watching a bit of the one with Billie Piper in it. i didn't detest it but i just didn't get into it, i guess. i think i dropped it for Queer as Folk or something. so um i really can't comment from viewing experience but i wanted to comment anyway because i feel like i haven't commented on your journal in too long! ♥

The bits I saw & didn't get were around when Billie Piper was in it (I don't think she was actually in them though). The UK Queer of Folk was created by the same guy who was running the production of DW at that time though so it's kind of ironic that you dropped one Russel T Davies show for another!

It does feel like it's been a while - understandable what with the moving and the internetlessness. It's lovely to see you here again though! ♥

I know, right? I can see a similar comedic sense in them, I think. But you wouldn't guess the same guy would be behind both shows, would you? XD

I KNOW IT! AND ILYT! ♥ do your worst! XD I'm working away at the BBC today otherwise I would propose a commentspam extraordinaire!
