According to the tree person who came and looked at it, it's a Ligustrum (privet), which I think someone or other suggested it might be.
Anyway, it's going to come down.

As I may occasionally have mentioned, there is a Very Small Garden at the back of the house in which we have the upper flat, in that portion of the grounds which goes with the top flat.
There has long been a tree in one corner, which started out a small tree, and seems to have suddenly got ever so much bigger (scary!) in the last few years.
