Maybe it just reveals what a poncey gourmet/glutton I am, but I cannot get very excited about OMG lab-burger.

Unfortunately this excellent little neighbourhood trattoria does not (yet) have a website, but pretty much the first page of hits in Google will be for this one (and not the ones in Preston or Bogota) and include contact details.

The cuisine is Sardinian, and I think we may justly apply the word 'robust' to the general style.

G+, quite apart from the nym gym aspect (paging Shirley Ellis, is really rather suboptimum given the snottiness about older browsers. Not all of us (as it might be, accessing via work computers) have the option to take that helpful hint to upgrade. I can't even sneak in to read my 'stream' by backdoor means anymore.

Partner and I recently managed to make bookings at relatively short notice at a couple of places that have been highly praised but which previously we've never managed to get into, at least at the times when we wanted to. It could be the time of year, or it could be that the buzz is over and they've both peaked and moved on...

Went to see Flare Path at the Theatre Royal Haymarket last night, and strongly recommend it. Great play, great production. Less impressed with the booking system on the theatre website, which doesn't send confirmation emails, gives misleading error messages, and managed to book me two lots of tickets (though I was able to cancel the excess pair).

For some reason, have been thinking today about all the London restaurants that partner and I (or me alone, or with others) used to go to if not regularly, at least recurrently, which are now defunct, and which I miss.

Inigo Jones, in Covent Garden - this was high-range, and we only went there perhaps 2, 3 times tops, but it was wonderful.
