Advice-seeking behaviour

Dec 03, 2021 17:20

For some while now my desktop computer has been getting annoyingly sluggish (it is a Lenovo All In One, which I acquired in 2017).
I have been increasingly wondering whether I should be getting a new one (aaaarrrgh! aaarrghhh!! aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!!)
However, it so perchanced that in the latest issues of Which, which I happened to be perusing, there was a piece on desktop computers and their virtues and what are the current best buys, and in the course of that article it mentioned that one does not always need to replace a slowing-down AIO model, one can upgrade its memory...
A little light googling reveals that one can, indeed, obtain memory upgrades for not unduly ruinous sums -
- though one is then, of course, in the position of having to install the things...
I daresay there is also advice on this online - I did spot a video but it seemed to be a Very Long One including instructions to more or less entirely rebuild one's existing computer, rather than merely make one single addition.
I therefore seek the thoughts and possibly related experiences of my knowledgeable dr rdrz appertaining to this question.
Pleeze?
