Review angsting
Having real problems getting stuck into writing this review, which is at least partly because it is by friendly acquaintance who is a nice person and generally okay so one is hesitant to be over-critical?
Or maybe my problem is just that I want this to be a different book on the topic from the book it actually is, and in many ways it is doing useful work and many people will find it A Helpful Introduction To A Vast Subject -
I may be doing that thing that I do which is Already Knowing That, and having an awareness that there are related things that I do not know about and which I would rather be being enlightened about, doesn't everybody know this already?
Except of course everybody does not know this already and it will no doubt come as revelation to many.
But part of it, if I had been doing this I'm not sure I'd have made those choices, but they are, I guess, perfectly valid choices.
Even if sometimes the chronology gets a bit slippy... but if you are covering vast areas and long periods I am probably being a bit nitpicky?
