I am getting very frustrated about trying to renew a prescription for a migraine prophylactic that my GP first prescribed to me last autumn.
When I came to renew it a few months later I had to write it in to the prescription renewal slip because it wasn't yet showing up there, and in the event I had to ring up to get a prescription issued.
So anyway, this time I still had to write it in, as it doesn't appear on the prescription renewal slip that gets printed out when I have a prescription issued, and it's not in the online prescription renewal system, either, and okay, I will concede that there appears to have been a delay caused by the Post Office partway through the process -
- so, anyway, I had to phone in again and ask them to issue a prescription for me to go in and collect (rather than have posted to me in sae), and at some personal inconvenience I went in, and found that due to some misapprehension they had issued a prescription for something else, which I was not, at this point, by now in rather urgent need of.
So I gave them the details, and they said I could come in and pick it up today.
So I changed the plans I had for today, as these did not mesh entirely well with going to my GP surgery and then going to get a prescription filled -
- and lo and behold, when I got there, it was not actually ready, maybe it will be done this evening (meaning I will have to go back there yet again) or else tomorrow. Which means that I will probably have to put off the plans I had for today that I had intended to undertake tomorrow, as this situation is becoming urgent and I am not entirely confident I shall not also have to chase around chemists.
This is totally not what one wants in connection with something that is supposed to prevent migraine.
ETA: well, they did get it done by this evening and in time for me to get it filled. I know GP receptionists get a lot of flack but they were really helpful with this.
