(Since I failed to take any pictures of Ludshott Common last week - either we were going too fast for photography, or the day when we did have pauses for tail-enders to catch up, I didn't have my camera)
These are the photos I took a couple of weeks ago when we went for a walk in the ancient woodlands abutting the Archway Road - Highgate Wood and Queen's Wood.
Views of the woods:
The rather bizarre sight of a water fountain of the Victorian/Edwardian municipal type - though here I think erected by private citizens - in the midst of the boskage. I failed to get a decent image of the plaque with a quotation from Highgate boy Coleridge at the base.
