secondly i want you to know that martel loves hasi too, inexplicably, even if he never actually calls her hasi. I HAVE A REASON FOR THAT AND EVERYTHING even if it is a pointless little thing no one cares about anyway he is the best formerly-evil uncle ever. one day i will inflict "martel: circa the sociopath years" on people.
when she introduced herself to him, she called herself "hasibe" and to the best of my knowledge has never told him to call her anything else (I'M P. SURE THIS IS CORRECT, I AM SO OBSESSIVE ON THIS TINY DETAIL THAT I HAVE ACTUALLY EDITED HIS COMMENTS WHEN I ACCIDENTALLY TYPED 'HASI')
basically he is being old fashioned respectful. in his way. that is what she said to call her, so he does, because he loves her a little in a bemused uncle sort of way. if she told him she likes to be called muffin, he'd roll with it.
