I've been fairly incommunicado recently - a bit more than a week ago, I noticed that my recently root-canaled and soon-to-be apicoectamied tooth had caused my gum to swell up. I started on a penicillin regimen but my face just kept swelling up until I looked like half a chipmunk. I started a second antibiotic, metronidazole, last Tuesday, and it has been effective but very draining. I had to go home on Wednesday afternoon and sleep and I didn't make it in to work again until today. I'm doing ok so far, but may have to go home early for my now-habitual afternoon nap.
Still, the swelling is now down to about the size it was when I first noticed it, and the colour is the same as the rest of my gum instead of purple and red, so that's encouraging. If the swelling had been all gone, I'd be having the apicoectamy in 40 minutes, as there was a cancellation.
Anyway, that's what's been up with me. I haven't actually been ignoring everyone.
