Momentum

The best thing that I could think of to keep myself moving with momentum, would be to keep creating. If I'm creating all the time, then I'm not watching or waiting. By the way, we spend a lot of time waiting for shit to happen. We also like to appreciate stuff that other people have made. Of course, this is definately an enjoyable way to pass the time... everytime you watch television, you are appreciating the work of hundreds of people working in the entertainment and technologic industry.

However, people rarely have a problem with not being sufficiently exposed to creative works, but rather they have a hard time creating things others would love to see. It's not a dream for everybody, though, we could ask ourselves if we'd like to watch or create more. Most people would love to simply watch and enjoy. That's probably how we procrastinate... we fall back on the simple pleasure of enjoying the work others have done. What's in it for us, this busness of creation? What is fun about it? Does the feeling of accomplishment not seem miniscule and inconsequential at the beginning of your task? Even when you're half way through a project, what's to say that others will love what you have done? The incentive to continue is so small at times, it's hard to finish what you've started.

But think about why you started in the first place. That feeling that something uniquely yours came from your thoughts and through your hands or mouth or imagination you've built something no one else could have done exactly the same way. When you know the sum of what you've become could help another soul transform from who they were into who they will become under your influence. That's what we want, to illicit change, to make our mark in our little world so we feel like we have a presence. All of us, by mere self-consciousness and self-awareness alone requires this type of reassurance. That's what makes us mortal.

And that's what keeps us creating.
