Good morning, all!
So, on the drinking front, for those of you still curious, while I did purchase a couple tiny bottles of Jose instead of doing shots and singing offkey all night, I ended up sticking to mixed drinks. Rum and coke is still one of my favorites and I started the evening with one, but ended up having like... 4 or 5 (jury is still out) glasses of cranberry juice (already healthier - see that, it has juice in it), sprite, and a shot of vodka - a couple lemon slices gave it that extra yum factor. See, the thing is,
rabid_x had gotten this new vodka that was freaking awesome, five times distilled vodka that was kind of ridiculous in it's proof and had just a slight bite to it. Put that in the cranberry juice and you couldn't barely taste the stuff except for a nice warming effect. So yeah, pretty damn dangerous drink there.
Basically we ended up getting nicely drunk and watching Wuxia films (Red Cliff? Freaking. Amazing.) and hollaring/cheering them on like it was a football game. And also Iron Man 2. Because it's the win. All in all, it was a very good night. And other than bleariness - no hangover, which surprised me after all the vodka, but hey! Awesome!
In other news, Sunday we checked out
Sherlock, the modernization of Doyle's badass duo of doom. If you've not seen it, I highly recommend it. It was absolutely fucking fantastic. I am addicted and hoping I can find some wonderful fic out there to tide me over since there were only three episodes filmed of it in the first season. Thankfully, they're all an hour and a half, but still. I want moar. Now. The interplay between Sherlock and Watson is amazing, the writing is just as snappy as it has to be to live up to the idea of a modern day Sherlock and they haven't turned Watson into a bumbling idiot. In fact I'm quite loving his backstory as it's been presented so far. And Sherlock is just as impossible as he should be as well. *heartheartheart*
See below for the kickassery that is Sherlock and Watson (I love Watson like whoa in this).
