My Myopia

Mar 25, 2009 16:16

I got glasses the other day. I never realised how poor my vision actually was.
Clouds have detail, and recognisable shapes have textures and different parts. It's like learning to make sense of the world all over again.

It's problematic at times because everything seems to be painted cut-outs on different layers. Everything seems so flat, and distance perception is still wonky. I'm kind of staring owl-eyed out of these things and stumbling around. I find myself looking at the corners of things -- I never realised the world had so much detail in it, or that corners were so sharp.

It kind of gives me a headache though and massive information overload. Supposedly, I'll get used to it.

I had a great dinner with some lovely steak, so that's pretty great.
I need to lie down though. I'm full. Then I'm going for a walk.
