Laid Off
Yup, I've just been bit by the recession/depression bug. My manager just informed me that after just over 4 years working as a temp, after making it through not one, but TWO 'temp purges' and the original company being bought, the company finally has no choice but to let me go. My last day is Friday unless Venturi is able to find me something before then. On the upside, they'll be giving me glowing references with my temp agency, and gave me their (my manager's plus the two others who were in the room with me) business cards so I can use them as references elsewhere as well.
They also said that if I'm still available, they'll most likely be looking to re-hire me (probably still as a temp, though) come May or June when this new project starts and they have a budget for temps again. Then again, if I'm still available by then, I'm in really deep doo-doo....
