Small Steps of Progress

I've decided to take Spring quarter off from school. I took off last Spring for the wedding and went back to school easily enough in the summer, so I'm not worried about "losing momentum" or whatever. I've also decided to take a Great Books class this summer. Something simple that will remind me why I actually _enjoy_ going to school. In order to do this though, I will need to re-activate my undergrad student status, however one does that. I don't know why I still feel a twinge of guilt about deciding not to kill myself to finish my Master's degree. Maybe because we are taught from an early age that unfinished business and "giving up" are to be avoided. Is it giving up? I suppose it is - still I will try to look at it as changing directions, modifying the plan. I'm also thinking of retaking the first two classes in German. I really liked taking German at OSU and since I am hoping to visit my best friend in Germany in the next 3 years, it would be helpful to have a refresher in the language. So that is the school thing for now.

In other news, I am looking for a theatre production that I would enjoy participating in, but I'm so very picky. BCT is doing The Spitfire Grill this summer, but I worry the story is a little too "Lifetime Original Movie" for me. Beggars can't be choosers though.

Also, also, we are finally moving into a bigger apartment! The new building doesn't have quite the same advantages of our current building (ridiculously close to my sister and best friend, and good sunlight in morning and afternoon), but I am willing to sacrifice those small bonuses in order to obtain a second bedroom. Huzzah!!! Hopefully we will stay at this apartment until we are ready to buy our first house. Its coming sooner than I think, since next year we have to start trying to get pregnant. That's a scary thought indeed...

For now I am spending my time cooking, going for walks with my sister, and reading multiple books at once (which I almost never do). I'm surprised it took me this long to finally read Pride and Prejudice! I probably worried that the language would trip me up, but so far it hasn't been too confusing. I'm happy I finally own a copy of the book for myself. Now back to our regularly scheduled Monday office work.
