Does anyone know of any brands of mp3 players that are/are supposed to be good?

No need to mention iPod. I know they're ~*~fabulous~*~ and everything, but after my grandmother bought me one a Christmas or two ago and it fucked up within the first month? I can't bring myself to trust another one. :|
