An Excellent Birthday Present

Woo…It’s my birthday today, I’m 22.
I still had to go to work, and I have a bitching cold coming on. I don’t know about anyone else but my brain goes down the toilet when I have a cold and today was a fantastic example of this.
7:40, I put potatoes on to rumble (a rumbler is a big spinning drum coated with…stuff that just grates the surface of whatever is put in there), the rumbler has a hose which hangs in there to make wash all the peelings off, and occasionally the hose flips out pissing water everywhere. Today was one of those times, unfortunately I was in another room sorting stuff out and didn’t come back until the veg bay is flooded out.

So I set to work on clearing all the water up, and put the tap on so the pots don’t dry out (you can see where this is going can’t you?), finish mopping up and go to pour the water down the drain, I get back in the veg bay and realise that I forgot to turn the tap off. That’s right, you guessed it. I’d flooded out the veg bay…AGAIN..twice in the space of half an hour.
Anyway. That was shit, the rest of the day was better but still sucky, especially once everyone in the kitchen found out what I did. But hey, that’s life.

Now, onto my birthday fun. Mum and Darby got me a couple of books - The Ultimate Bushisms (with foreword by Mark Steel) and the George Dubya Bush Joke Book. But wait. That’s not all. They also got me a Fiber Optic Lamp! (because I’m a proper student now!)

Not really birthday related other than the timing, but Steve, Darby’s boss at work, gave me his old computer which was totally awesome. It now means I can have Amarok and Mozilla open at the same time without my comp freezing!

HOWEVER….the real joy of the day was my weight. This morning when I stepped on the scales I was:

wait for it….

Twenty One Stone and Thirteen Pounds!!!!

I forgot to take a photo though owing to the afore mentioned brain damage.
I did however weigh again this afternoon and I did take a photo of that so without further ado;

This is a big thing for two reasons, firstly I hit a sticking point about 9 days ago, I got to 21 1 and I was bouncing between 21 0 and 21 2. The fact that I’m less than 21 0 in the afternoon means that I’ve got through that plateau

One last thing. If you’re reading this and I have ever met you, and you’re in Portsmouth this Friday, and I haven’t already invited you, I’m having a piss up at the Fawcett Inn, I’ll be there from about 8. Feel free to come along and buy me a drink!

Right, that’s it!
