DARK KNIGHT RISING
So, I am making a mistake that I'm probably a little too old to make. I'm going off to see the new Batman film tonight, at a midnight showing. I wouldn't, except that I have friends to see and hang with that I haven't seen in weeks.
And, you know. Batman would do the same for me.
We just had an election down here, which has kept me crazy busy. Like, insane, man. Unfortunately, we got stuck with a bunch of contests that nobody cared about, leading to some record low voter turnout. We had a precinct with zero voters show up. And our job, at the Board, was to sit and stare at our computers from 5:30 in the morning until about 7:45 at night. My team, in particular, had done such a good job anticipating the problems of this election from our particular angle that we had solved them all the night before. There was nothing to do.
On the plus side, we won't be spending weeks and weeks sifting through updated records and the like. Hopefully we can take this week and get a jump on things. I don't know what that will look like. I just hope it starts soon.
Because otherwise I'm going to start writing on the job, and that's gonna get me in trouble.
