Voting's For Suckers!
So, I just discovered the best way to keep annoying campaign volunteers at bay when they approach me on the street to ask about my voting, is to tell them I'm a felon.
Not only does it get them to leave me alone, but I get the distinct pleasure of seeing their smiling naive optimistic expression change into something ranging from fear to doubt.
Of course, it is completely unjust that felons should not be allowed to vote (though I know it depends on the individual state law). Hell, I think even folks currently in prison should be allowed to vote, but let's start with the ones with that have already "paid their debt to society." They should have a right to determine (should they believe in the efficacy of voting) how society pays its debt to them.
