[- Another quiet conversation -]

"Well, damn."

"Nicely put."

"Thank you, ever so much. What do I do now, hmm?"

"You want the good answer, or the joking one?"

"The good one, please."

"Alright, then." *snuggles up to him, hugging* "You're mostly worried about the loss of face here, right? And the subsequent loss of influence?"

*hums, and strokes her hair* "Mmmhmm. Half the lot are going to give me hell for it, rumour or confirmation, permission or not. We both know that."

*mrr, hair-petting* "I do, and I understand why you don't want it. Since you were already mostly-gone anyway, you could just take a little vacation. Given this lot, they won't even notice your absence. There's only a few small things that you really needed to take care of beforehand, and those, mostly, shouldn't be a problem. Anything else, I can cover for you."

"Sounds nice. Go and be a building for another little while."

"Exactly. A building, the beach, whatever you like. Make it up to Hermes, show him that he's the only one that really matters. Just don't make it ten years this time."

"Oh, come on. It was only five."

"Shush." *thwap* "You know what I mean, still. Hiding for that long never brings anything good."

"I know. Thank you, Amber."

"Nothing to it." *careful, sisterly cheek-kiss, and a gentle hair-ruffle* "S'what I'm here for, after all."

"Among other things?"

"Shush, Osborn. Get out of here, hmm? Go check in with your husband."

"Yes, ma'am."
