ooc: The post is open to im_ironman, manorly_wayne, not_a_savage, parkerpete, luthor_legacy, rodofasclepius, and starcityqueen Due to several different ooc reasons, this weekend has been pushed back a few times, and it's plot necessary that it be snowing like a mofo so. Handwaving will ensue and here lies a freak snowstorm. Stranger things have happened, just talk to the people who got the hurricane in Maine last year.

The precarious weather is causing havoc with cell phone and Internet reception. The connection is intermittent, unreliable at best. When messages come through they come through all at once - when you try to return them it takes several attempts and even then you’re fortunate to be able to finish a quick conversation ( ... )

One.

One short message, to the point. The tone as cold as ice.

“It seems like you’ve been an even busier boy than I could have ever imagined. You and I need to talk, Bruce. And I wouldn’t stall if I were you - I’m a little sick of your bat-shit. You’ve got, well, you’ve got until my show tonight to have your say - after that, we’ll let the people make up their minds. I can’t wait to hear what they think ( ... )

There's something about having to be stuck in a cabin, with no real connection to the real world, that makes Tony's skin crawl. At least he's not by alone, but damn if it doesn't make his anxiety levels rise. On the good days, when even he believes the fact that he's fine and normal, he would never even dream of saying he's claustrophobic, he would never admit that the idea of being trapped terrifies him, that to this day there are still flashbacks to that cave as if he's there enough to make him feel the cold bone deep ( ... )

Models and Hawaii. Bruce would like to Model and Hawaii Tony Stark's face. OK, that doesn't make much sense but, hell, Bruce isn't feeling very sensible. He's feel the adrenaline of a thousand men running through his veins - which in itself isn't such an alien sensation - but generally the Batman has immense self control.

Right now he's feeling very little.

The fact is, there are a million little things that are life or death situations. Everything has consequences and there are people that need the consequences only The Batman can make ( ... )

When it's unfolding, Harry goes silent. He's well trained to go quiet when Daddy is upset. And well. Bruce has bee placed in that role for years, no matter if he wanted to be or not. Probably more so now that Norman came back and Harry felt the true cut of how cruel his father could be. So when Bruce wants silence, he gets silence. Harry tells everyone to keep it down ( ... )

There's something about being ignored that makes him snap. He doesn't know how, or why, but it irritates the living hell out of him to the point that all the anger that he has been feeling towards Bruce the past few months (MONTHS, not even days or weeks, it has been months) suddenly bubbles over.

Of course, there's also the fact that Tony's overprotective of Harry to a point that, the fact that he's just leaving like this, makes him even more angry. How dare he just leave? They had all shown up for the kid for a reason, and suddenly he's just leaving even given the fact of how much Harry cares for Bruce?

So it's Harry, Pepper, that betrayal of trust, and suddenly there's a listful of reasons why Tony wants to punch the living daylights out of Wayne. And maybe it's all the scotch he has been drinking throughout the day, maybe it's the fact that they are trapped and it's making Tony even more unbalanced than he has been lately, but when Bruce moves towards the door Tony doesn't move out of the way. If anything, he just shoves him ( ... )

And Bruce Wayne, in response, looks at Stark, at the entire scene unfolding in front of him, with almost complete detachment. As if all these people, these little people, just don’t connect with him at all. These people aren’t his focus. They’re not his issue. They’re not what he needs to deal with now. The compartmentalisation he does is always very exact, very presice. Ask any of his girlfriends. If you’re on his radar you have his full attention (and you usually don’t want it) and if you’re not, well, you’re an inconvenience. Something to push through.

Stark pushes him and Bruce barely budges.

“Really?” He says.

And then he does it. He smirks. He smirks.

“You’re going to hit me? You are. You are? That’s ( ... )

"Is that usually how it goes?"

Tony's glaring, but he has to hand it to him, the fact that Bruce says that Tony needs to back off "like a good little boy" makes him smirk right back. The humor doesn't quite reach his eyes, though, and unlike Bruce there's no detachment. Tony doesn't work like that. He doesn't go cold and detached, not unless the argument is different - instead his eyes are burning with the anger that is making his blood boil underneath.

"You say move, and I'm supposed to leap out of the way?"

"Tony," someone says behind him, warns, but he doesn't hear them. Not really. He doesn't even know who the hell it is.

"How in the hell are you going to leave, anyway?" Tony just continues, chin tilted up defiantly. "You do realize we're fucking snowed in, right?"

“Yes,”

Calm and matter of fact. These eyes don’t look angry at all.

“That’s usually how it goes.”

He stares down at Tony.

“I’m going to walk out the door, get in my car and drive.”

Stark is still blocking the door. This is ridiculous.

“Excuse me, Tony.”

And then he pushes past.

The second Bruce pushes past, Tony swings a right hook at him. Tony Stark is nowhere near the expert he is at fighting as the Batman, because usually Iron Man's forte is something else altogether, but he has gotten pretty decent at it. All thanks to one Happy Hogan who, ever since the announcement of 'I am Iron Man' in that press conference had taken it upon himself to train his boss as best as possible in everything he knew about boxing and self defense in general.

Of course, this isn't self defense. Not really. Tony's just angry. He's just out for blood.

Lex tries to get in the middle, Oliver tries to pull Tony back, but when he does Tony just gets even more angry. Because he thinks Bruce deserves the beating. Because it seems someone is always there trying to be a buffer between himself and Bruce, and because goddamn it he just doesn't want to be touched, so when Oliver goes for Tony again to pull him away he just punches him square on the face ( ... )

Bruce agrees. He’s deserved every beating he’s ever got, but there isn’t time for this now ( ... )

"I don't ever want to see you angry? You're a fucking coward, Wayne."

When he leaves, Tony is half tempted to go after him, but he just doesn't because he realizes Lex isn't getting back up. Oh great. Did he get knocked out?

The thought of going after Wayne returns when he says he's taking his car. But, instead of running after him, he just calls out, furious,

"Do us all a goddamn favor and get lost somewhere out there, will you?"

He'll take out his frustration on Wayne's car later. For now, he just goes to check on Lex and Oliver. One thing is picking a fight upstairs, away from the kid. Another one altogether is to follow and have it right in front of him. Besides, he really doesn't want to hear what side he would pick on.

So.

He just checks on Lex and Oliver, even if he looks as if he's fuming while doing so.

Harry's heard enough to piece together what has gone on upstairs. Mostly at least. Because every time he's near headed toward the stairs, Jack, Nick or Peter has stopped him. So he keeps drinking, keeps flinching every time he hears something that sounds physical up there, and keeps quiet. Because Bruce asked for silence ( ... )

"Im fine."

And he is. Or he believes he is; there's nothing wrong. He's just angry but he's fine. Really. Just fine.

The way Harry asks, though, and how he looks makes him pause for a second. Right. So maybe he should be sorry.

"...sorry. I..."

Right. He looks at Lex, Oliver and Harry. He watches Nick checking over them.

"I'll be back in a second."

He doesn't care how cold it is, or how badly it's snowing; he needs fresh air so he starts for the door. For Bruce's car sake, all snow shovels better be well hidden on his way out.
