starcityqueen Due to several different ooc reasons, this weekend has been pushed back a few times, and it's plot necessary that it be snowing like a mofo so. Handwaving will ensue and here lies a freak snowstorm. Stranger things have happened, just talk to the people who got the hurricane in Maine last year.

Of course, this isn't self defense. Not really. Tony's just angry. He's just out for blood.
Lex tries to get in the middle, Oliver tries to pull Tony back, but when he does Tony just gets even more angry. Because he thinks Bruce deserves the beating. Because it seems someone is always there trying to be a buffer between himself and Bruce, and because goddamn it he just doesn't want to be touched, so when Oliver goes for Tony again to pull him away he just punches him square on the face.
And suddenly there is blood. There's enough blood to make him think that maybe he broke poor Ollie's nose, but instead of it snapping him out of it he just turns his attention back to Wayne.

Sometimes Bruce Wayne takes the punch - the first one anyway - because it’s part of the act. It’s part of the joy of being Bruce Wayne. It’s what Bruce Wayne would do. And, sure, Tony knows how to throw a decent punch, Happy taught him well. But Bruce just isn’t in the mood to take it today.
The block isn’t the sort of move you’re taught by Happy Hogan. It’s something else entirely. It’s almost an attack in itself, one arm block the attack and pushing through, pushing Tony back and out of the way. He does it so easily, it’s so fluid, it almost doesn’t look like a fight. It seems to cost him no effort at all but he pushes Tony away, into the wall, with real force.
All these people involving themselves in this. He can’t stand this.
Luthor is there in the middle - Bruce doesn’t know what he’s doing - seriously - what is the guy doing? Tony is trying to get to him and Lex is standing in the way and Bruce has just had it. Had about enough.
Lex hits the floor before he possibly realises that Bruce has taken hold of him and the moment Tony steps forward he follows.
“I’ll take a raincheck on the alpha male aggression, Stark. Right now you need to do yourself a favour and stay down there - I’m not in the mood for this. You’re trying my patience today and you don’t want to ever see me really angry.”
Bruce really sounds like he thinks he’s the only reasonable one here. He really believes he’s the only reasonable, logical one here.
“You all need to just calm down - go have a drink, snowball fight, homoerotic hot tub session. Do what you came here to do.”
He steps over Lex, so calm about it. He heads right down the stairs. He grabs the keys to Tony’s car. It was parked on the highest spot - less snow to bulk down the tyres.
“Tony - ” He calls up the stairs. “I’m taking your car, OK? You can take mine tomorrow. I’ll owe you one - Thanks.”

When he leaves, Tony is half tempted to go after him, but he just doesn't because he realizes Lex isn't getting back up. Oh great. Did he get knocked out?
The thought of going after Wayne returns when he says he's taking his car. But, instead of running after him, he just calls out, furious,
"Do us all a goddamn favor and get lost somewhere out there, will you?"
He'll take out his frustration on Wayne's car later. For now, he just goes to check on Lex and Oliver. One thing is picking a fight upstairs, away from the kid. Another one altogether is to follow and have it right in front of him. Besides, he really doesn't want to hear what side he would pick on.
So.
He just checks on Lex and Oliver, even if he looks as if he's fuming while doing so.

Bruce is down the stairs a moment later. Calling out to Tony he's gonna borrow his car. Harry just watches him leave. There's nothing to say when Bruce is like this.
When is Bruce ever like this?
It's pouring down snow.
"It's not safe for him to drive," Nick says, and Harry nods. But he doesn't go after Bruce. Harry's well trained. If he tries to stop Bruce it's just going to end in disaster so he shrugs and tosses back another drink.
"Hey, can one of you two doctor types come up here. Lex hit his head." Ollie's voice sounds kind of weird when he speaks. Harry's had his nose broken before. He knows what is up. And hey this isn't the first time Lex has been knocked out right?
"Ollie's been hit in the nose, I think. It sounds like it. You should both go up ad check them out." He sounds concerned but quiet too. Not as detached as Bruce, but not quite full on. He exchanges a look with his friends before heading up the stairs. They don't stop them. Not when they have been summoned too. He wonders if Peter will come up with them or try and follow Bruce.
When he reaches the stairs, he immediately runs to Lex's side and checks vitals. Lex is slowly starting to come to. Ollie's already got his head tilted back and using a towel to stop the bleeding. Harry backs away so the doctors, the real doctors, can check them out.
He looks over at Tony and asks quietly, "Are you okay, Tony?"

And he is. Or he believes he is; there's nothing wrong. He's just angry but he's fine. Really. Just fine.
The way Harry asks, though, and how he looks makes him pause for a second. Right. So maybe he should be sorry.
"...sorry. I..."
Right. He looks at Lex, Oliver and Harry. He watches Nick checking over them.
"I'll be back in a second."
He doesn't care how cold it is, or how badly it's snowing; he needs fresh air so he starts for the door. For Bruce's car sake, all snow shovels better be well hidden on his way out.
