...but this weekend I've been sort of bouncing off the walls, full of energy and excitement and fun! (Which, let me tell you, hasn't happened in longer than I can remember.)
Friday night I had a great time at a bar with a bunch of friends, and the happy feeling carried over into Saturday when I spent most of the day (after hanging out with my parents for a couple of hours and having a shockingly good time along with cool conversation) just-- discovering more and more about P!ATD! Interviews, documentaries,
ADORABLE VIDEOS OF ZACK CARRYING BDEN OFF STAGE (WHICH, BTW, I NEED MORE OF IN ORDER TO LIVE)!
And then videos of
"wall of death" mosh pits at outdoor concerts (go to 0:57) started getting me all restless and wanting to be in the middle of one! It's been too long since I've been in one (4 months?) and I'm not going to another one for a WHOLE MONTH. =(
At 7pm on Saturday Judy came home, super tired from diving, but I was just so full of restless energy and I really wanted to go out and, you know, do something. So she suggested the Astoria Beer Garden (since she hadn't been before) and I called Bassim and we met up and got into an interesting conversation with two brothers-in-law (a cop and a fireman) and their wives about politics and torture and ethics and it was really cool even though we sort of had a few differing viewpoints. It was a great time, though, and I was really happy that it worked out that way! (Also, jesus, the fireman was FUCKING HOT OKAY and looked A LOT LIKE HUGH DILLON, bald head and all.)
Earlier today (Sunday) was ice skating with Judy, AJ and Maryann and it couldn't have been more fun and somewhat tiring, but SO WORTH IT! The ice rink in LIC was sooooo not crowded (maybe 20 people max?) and the ice was wonderful and fresh and even though I fell once and now have a really sore knee with a huge sensitive bruise on it, it was kind of the most hilarious experience I really really wish I'd been able to see it from 3rd person POV as well. OH GOD SO EMBARRASSING! But then we all went to Uno's to eat after -- we ate outside and it was gorgeous and warm and sunny and beautiful -- and RAQUEL COINCIDENTALLY WALKED BY and called out "Sara!" in the most delighted I'm so happy to see you voice! =DDD I mean, I really feel like this weekend couldn't have been more designed to make me happy than if I'd planned it myself.
Maryann came over and watched the last 2 eps of s3 Merlin with me, which was awesome because now she's all caught up. Then there was going through my folder of all these P!ATD pics -- 2006-era bb!emos and then ALL THE BRENDON/SPENCER: THEY CAN'T KEEP THEIR HANDS/EYES/HIPS OFF OF EACH OTHER pics -- and Maryann basically being all OHMYGOD I CAN'T EVEN! OMG! OMG! and me being all BOYFRANDS! BOYFRANDS! SEE THE BOYFRANDS! the whole time. LOLZ. There was a lot of eye-rolling done by Judy. ^_~
So basically TL;DR: everything was cinnamon schnapps and nothing hurt (including my busted knee) and THIS WAS ME ALL WEEKEND:
OMG I don't want to have to go to work tomorrowwwwwwwwww. T_T
ETA: Awesome thing I can't believe I forgot to note was that when we were walking to the car on Sunday morning we passed some guy who had just come out onto the front stoop of his building and I noticed he was wearing a The Sword band tee. I wanted to say something, and hesitated for a moment, but I was kind of like, well fuck it, I'm happy, it's sunny, I'm SO in the mood to go to a concert and I'm SO looking forward to The Sword show in September-- so I said, "Hey, are you going to see them in September?" He was surprised and like, "what?" "The Sword -- your shirt..." "Oh! When are they playing?" "In September, with Kyuss!" "I didn't know! That's awesome, I missed the one that they rescheduled last year!" "Oh man, that one was so good, sorry you missed it! Hope to see you in September, then!"
The whole exchange put a huge smile on my face. I think AJ possibly thought I was adorable like a child. Hee.
