First chapter of the Code Ass manga, scanlated! I got all the way to page fourteen before trashing it, woohoo!!! The distinguishing characteristics:
→ A comically Byzantine plot, which makes absolutely zero sense and is poorly thought-out, and which I forgot instantaneously.
→ A cast of seriously generic military-mech characters, featuring,
→ Kamui, only boring,
→ Syaoran, who appears, wonderfully, to be named 'Suzaku,' but who is, tragically, even more boring than usual,
→ A boring sick girl in a wheelchair whose mechanical construction, despite the fact that the series is set far into a non-specifically dystopian future, is straight out of early nineteenth-century England (the wheelchair, not the girl) (although),
→ A sniveling, retarded, physically weak wench who I already want to shoot after an acquaintance which lasted for a total of two pages,
→ A scrappy, annoying, androgynous-looking wench,
→ A mahou shoujo, who, since she was designed by CLAMP, is sporting an impressive array of non-specifically BDSM bondage gear,
→ Some excruciatingly boring male characters who are completely indistinguishable from one another, and,
→ The Evil Lord Kittypants!! ❤
It seems that Lord Kittypants is actually named "Lord Clovis," which, depending on how superficially the series is constructed, could potentially be meaningful. Hahahaahaha! Meaningful!
I'm not ready to give up on this series yet, however, despite the fact that the manga is print-based anesthesia. I have some remaining hope for the anime. Hopefully it will feature more interaction with the Evil Empire, who in gundam series are almost always more entertaining than the good guys. Actually, they would have a long, hard job being less entertaining, to be honest with you. Also, Lord Kittypants. I have to hang on for him.

So, I'm reading Harry Potter and Severus Snape Are Totally the OTP of Forever. I think that's what it's called, anyway. I've just started getting to the snogging parts, and they are causing me a great deal of psychological distress. I may never be able kiss anyone again. I can honestly understand both sides of the wank on this particular issue, though:
→ On the one hand, Rowling probably isn't going to go to the trouble to create a female character who strongly resembles the orphaned hero's valiant, dead mother unless that female character is: a.) The hero's arch-nemesis, or, b.) The other half of the hero's OTP. As Ginny has already covered the arch-nemesis bit, the only thing that's left is the OTP.
→ On the other hand, GINNY WEASLEY OJKLSDHHKLGSOUAEYRKGJS. I know it is always a silly idea to confuse your own preferences and interests with those you find in a fictional construct, but personally speaking, if it came down to Ginny Weasley and any other Potter character -- any character at all, up to and including Hagrid's Blast-ended Skrewts -- the forecast would not look sunny for Ginny Weasley.
I am not as big a fan of Harry Potter as I used to be.
I am also going to have to read Sandman, dammit. It is plying me with long-haired gay-looking bishounen. I think we all know how I feel about those. ARE YOU LISTENING, CODE ASS?!
