... But Otherwise, It's All Good
Let's see... what else can go wrong...?
- A couple weeks ago, I spent money we really couldn't afford for a black ink cartridge, and it disappeared before I could ever get it into the printer. So a week ago, I bought another one, then tried to print a major project and discovered that my color cartridge was running out. So I had to print the entire thing with only my black cartridge. After which, it was pretty much wiped. I have yet to be able to afford yet another one.
- The last year or so, my house has been plagued with intermittent internet issues. The past couple months, they've gotten worse. Last week, they reached critical failure, which culminated in final death on Friday. Funny thing is, I have been unable to determine the cause. Whenever my equipment appeared to be working fine, I'd contact the cable company... but it would fix itself by the time I got any help. That's the problem with intermittent issues... they're intermittent. But this weekend, it definitely looked like my 3- or 4-year-old cable modem was acting weird. So... we took $60 we definitely could not afford to spend and bought a new one. It didn't help. *sigh* Cable tech comin' to the house this afternoon.
- And before you ask, yes. It's absolutely necessary that we have working internet. There are three adults in our house currently enrolled in online school. Roulette and I went to the public library Saturday and Sunday to turn stuff in, and Allydhian was out of town... at a place with internet, fortunately.
- Last week, after more than a week of trying to stretch our very last dollar to get to payday, payday finally came and went, After bills were paid and the larder stocked, we found out that Allydhian had been laid off at work and Moonled's check was really short. We are back to stretching... and I have serious doubts about the dollar we have left to stretch. We have 11 days yet to go. Roulette's sold one of her dolls... that'll help, but it's coming in monthly installments, so it'll only help a little.
- To take my mind off the money problems, I organized the start for another D&D game. Should have gotten off the ground late last week. But Thursday ended up being our shopping night, since it was payday. And Friday, emotions were strained over the money problems and such. Then Saturday... while I was out buying the cable modem, Jadefoxx got a call with a family emergency and she and Allydhian had to skip town. So nothin'. I've been beating my head against the wall on a brilliant new game scenario for four or five days now, and I have to shift gears and prep for my regular game tonight. *headdesk*
- So... now that you have a picture of the whole sitch... last night, headed upstairs to go to bed, and the upstairs air conditioner is out. Freakin' fantastic. Really.
