Does this make sense to anyone else?
Congress just approved a $70 billion Department of Defense budget for the "wars" in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as a $1.2 billion project to build a stupid fence at the Mexican border.
Meanwhile, I don't qualify for government health care even though a) I pay my taxes and b) no private insurance company will cover me (as I have a horrible disease known as PREGNANCY).
EDIT: My bad. The fence - which will cover 700 miles of the entire 2,000-mile border - has an estimated cost of $126.5 million per 14 miles. The 1.2 billion is simply the down payment. Small price to pay to ensure that those evil Mexicans stay where they belong! Hmph.
