Fun day/thoughts on life

Yesterday was great. First of all, it rained for the first time in a month, and the temperature dropped into the 50s. I love fall weather and was excited to break out my sweaters!

I attended my second water aerobics class at the YMCA in the morning. The Y offers AquaFit classes at three difficulty levels. The hardest one is at night - when I eat and watch TV - and the intermediate is at the buttcrack of dawn - hells no. So I go to the low-impact one at 11 a.m. along with 2-3 college kids looking to earn an easy gym credit, and 20 seniors. It's HYSTERICAL. The seniors are a lot like high-schoolers. They do the workout if/when they feel like it and spend most of the time gossiping with one another in little groups. They also pretend to whine about everything. Love it! It seems like I'm not working that hard, but my arms and legs are sore today so I guess it's enough.

Then I came home, took a shower, and went to lunch with Trent at The Good Food Store (that's actually what it's called). I had a giant-ass veggie burger and the most delicious soy Mexican mocha EVER. Mmmmmmm. It was heaven. Trent had a salad (sans the spinach - looks like a lot of the greens have been banned from the market completely), a root beer, and banana bread. Seriously, that boy could LIVE on banana bread. After that, we dropped off our old cable boxes at FedEx and drove to the bank to set up a savings account with some of the money we earned from the sale of our house.

Even though I have my UNC class and am training for U of Phoenix (:P), it feels like my life has taken on a much, much slower pace. That kind of freaks me out. Normally I would fight it - I would add activities or look for another job or do SOMETHING to fill the time. But because I'm often too tired to even walk into the next room without wanting to collapse, I can't do that. And I really don't want to deal with unnecessary stress right now. I think it's a good thing. If I do nothing more than go swimming and drink a coffee and grade some papers and do Sudoku, guess what: the world is not going to end. I guess life forces you to get into the slow lane sometimes.

Oh! And my parents and brother are visiting next weekend. The parents are flying in from NY and have been planning to do so for a few weeks. My brother caught wind of the whole thing and has decided to fly in from Seattle. I'm excited to see them, though it's always difficult to predict whether we'll get along. I plan to keep several bottles of wine on hand in case of emergencies.
