DS lost his 2 front teeth when he was 2.6 years old. They had to be pulled out, on account that they broke when he was playing at day care about 6 mos. earlier and the root had died consequently the area had become inflamed. A bit traumatic to all of us, I must say. Happily, he does not remember any of it.
However, this Friday, we were at my dad's and DS came to me and said: "I got hurt and my tooth is wobbling" 8-O
I took a look and saw that one of his bottom teeth was really loose. I decided that he probably didn't get hurt but was scared to tell me he had a loose tooth thinking I would get hysterical...or think he did something >:-{
Anyway, I exclaimed "oh my god" "you have a loose tooth" and then I explained myself to him. I reminded him of the tooth book, how you get set 1 and then set 2, I also told him about the tooth fairy and remembering a friend of mine who's daughter has a loose front tooth and her dentist said it could take 3 month to fall out, I decided not to touch it or do anything, just let it come out on its own.
Well, DS was obsessed with it, and he kept "secretly" wiggling it back and forth, until it came out and then he came to show me the tooth.
I complimented him on how well he dealt with the situation and I told him we would put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy.
DS feel asleep in the car on the way home. The tooth was placed in a safe plastic container [the kind you get soy sauce in when you buy Sushi] and under his pillow.
The following morning, DS found the tooth under his pillow with 2 shekels as well. ($0.50).
He was so happy, he had me get his piggy bank and as per always wanted me to count all the money he now had there. [fyi, DS at present has more money than I do right now :-(]
