Knitted Resolutions:
I hope to complete some knitting projects that have been hibernating and also start and finish some others as follows:
- Pumpkin hat (possibly make 2)
- Strawberry hat
- Tea Set
- Fingerless gloves (possibly make 2 pairs)
- Finish Opal socks
- Finish Audrey sweater [in the style of Audrey Hepburn]
- His and His hats.
- Xmas gift scarf or toy (to be decided)
- Ornaments
- Knit my holiday gift from K.
[10 skeins of Debbie Bliss Soho w/ 4 patterns to chose from]
(I think this list is doable b/c a lot of these projects are small)
Reading Span:
During 2008 I managed to take up reading again. Always something I enjoyed. I like a good yarn [tee hee]. I found myself reading whilst expecting DD in order to avoid having a repeat c/s, I read all about vbac. I also found myself reading in the hospital when I had DD and when she was hospitalized for surgery and later for the UTI.
Then, thanks to a tip from
lizzparker I found that in order to enjoy the expression session with the electronic pump, reading was a great idea. So every day I get 20 min. of reading. I've decide to try and read as much as I can from books I have purchased over the years, these includes books for just plain reading pleasure and also books that speak about parenting (I could use all the help I can get in that topic), some of those books are also fun to read. I have about 5 books making their way to me right now and they are:
-
101 Life Skills Games for Children: Learning, Growing, Getting Along (ages 6-12) -
101 More Life Skills Games for Children: Learning, Growing, Getting Along (ages 9-15) -
101 Language Games for Children: Fun and Learning with words, stories and poems. -
Setting Limits with Your Strong-Willed Children -
Ask Supernanny: What Every Parent Wants to Know by Frost, Jo Right now I'm reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho.
guygrobler recomended this book on his journal, so I went ahead and got it.
During 2008 I finished reading or read in total the following books:
-
The VBAC Experience [thank you so much for this
lizzparker , it was a huge help]
- Secrets I kept in my Tummy by Lihi Lapid. [hebrew] [a collegue loaned it to me]
-
Raise High the Roof Beam, Carpenters and Seymour by J.D. Salinger [I got it in hebrew at the book store in the hospital when I was looking for something to do, it was on sale from display]
-
When Your Kids Push Your Buttons: And What You Can Do About It by Bonnie Harris agooshah recomended this one for me when we were at Borders, England, I really enjoyed reading it]
So you see, I have PLENTY to keep me busy in my down time or commute for the year of 2009!!!
