Notes on the peppers - while in general peppers were not period to SCA time period thehonorablellt says there is a variety of pepper that WAS available. She's promised she'd include it in the documentation, but price and availability may mean she uses bell peppers instead.

While I was in Boston LLT made the pistachio cream. When I got back on Sunday night there was enough left to half fill a small starbucks bottle. I got to have a few sips and I have to say it was VERY nummy. It's the consistancy of a thick soup with little nut chunks. It's very sweet and creamy (duh! there is cream in the title for a reason). Had a wonderful evening at spikywheel's house. She was test cooking the feast she is doing next weekend. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the menu. She's doing it buffet style and figures ~80 people. I urge you all to go to A Feast For Charlemagne next Saturday. A good friend of mine head cooked a feast recently. When I asked a couple of Laurels for their opinion I was very disappointed with the reaction.
