Hello, everyone! *waves meekly* After not posting anything for a long while, I don't know quite where to start! RL has been rather busy lately, but entertainment stuff is far more interesting and fun to discuss, so I think I'll just dive in with shows/movies talk for now. :)

*Shipping is not for the faint of heart, *le sigh*: So I recently read a spoiler for one of the shows I watch, and let's just say that it's apparent to me now that I am just not meant to ship TV characters. The moment I ship it, it's Doomed...even when the pairing was the freaking original premise of the show! First the hot mess of Kara/Lee and now this?! *cries* I give up (and I am definitely giving up on this show. I'm done letting writers yank me around by a chain while not feeding me any treats. This show hasn't been entertaining since the first season anyway, and my ship was the only thing that still kept me watching. :P).

*Speaking of Kara/Lee, BSG is STILL A SORE TOPIC for me, gah. I know there is wonderful post-finale meta and fic out there, but I'm currently at the "if I ignore it, maybe the finale never happened" stage. I'm bookmarking a whole lot of good stuff with high hopes that this denial stage is temporary...hopefully. Damn you, RDM!

*Bollywood never ceases to amuse me though! I recently watched Lagaan, Jodhaa Akbar, and Swades, and I ♥ed all three...it's impossible for me to pick a favorite! The picturizations were lovely, the storylines were surprisingly strong for such long movies, and the music was ridiculously awesome...but what I enjoyed the most were the kickass female leads. Aamir, Hrithik, and Shahrukh are some pretty big names to pair up against (not to mention that I think this is some of their finest work), but the women more than held their own.

To those who have seen Lagaan: Was I the only one who felt a little indignant about how Elizabeth (the upper-class British woman who helped the villagers learn how to play cricket) was treated by both her brother and the villagers? She was so self-sacrificing and benevolent towards the villagers, but in a deleted scene, they easily wrote her off as a traitor when her brother "outed her" for manipulating them. Hmmph. And while I can't blame the girl for falling for Aamir's Bhuvan, I wish they would have kept it more of a platonic respect between the two characters...or at least gave her an ending where she met a nice British fellow instead of having the poor girl pine after him the rest of her life! I loved the song "Oo Rey Chori," but it also made me confused about the love triangle because it wasn't clear to me whether or not Bhuvan had feelings for Elizabeth as well (or was all of the fantasies just in Elizabeth's head?). Besides that, Bhuvan and Gauri were adorable together! ANYWAY. I would like to make a post about these three films more in depth sometime and would love to hear others' thoughts on them!

In other Bollywood watch news, I began Saawariya about a week ago and haven't gotten very far on it. It's a very pretty film (and Sonam and Rani are both gorgeous in it), but the film hasn't captured my interests so far. Oh well-will keep trying! I've also had Luck By Chance from Netflix sitting idly on my desk for a few weeks even though I anticipated watching this one, huh. Maybe now that I'm on summer vacation, I'll pick up some speed on watching BW films.

*The Big Bang Theory: I don't think I've ever quite loved a sitcom like The Big Bang Theory. It pretty much cements my geekiness, but it makes me giddy when they mention Doctor Who, BSG, what have you. Sheldon has to be one of the greatest characters ever, and I am so tickled with his *real* Texan (Houstonian, to be exact) accent! And he calls his grandma 'Memaw' just like I do! ♥. And I wouldn't mind owning this geeky shirt of his or a Rock Paper Scissors Lizard Spock shirt!

*Dollhouse: Dollhouse has been renewed for a second season! I'm glad I held off on watching most of the episodes until the finale aired last week because (like any Whedon show) it was fun to marathon, and it started to get really interesting towards the end. I love how fucked up all the characters are on this show...even the calm and collected DeWitt loses her cool (Miss Lonelyhearts, anyone?) and even the "moral" character of the show (HeloBallard) went into shady gray territory with the whole Mellie/November storyline and fixation on Caroline. I actually think that where the season left of would have been an okay ending for the series if such was the case, but Joss does ensemble shows so well that I'm looking forward to seeing what he does with them next season! Yayz!

*True Blood: I also finally caught up on True Blood recently. I had stopped watching because it became just a bit too ridiculous for my tastes, but once I embraced it for the B-movie horror silliness that it is, I found all the spewing blood and the V!sex and the angry relationships and Bill's possessiveness of Sookie more LOL- than cringe-worthy. So. Not my favorite show, but it's entertaining enough for me to watch season 2.

Hmm...what else? So there's this one little film everyone and their moms have been talking about lately, and I'd really like to jump on that bandwagon (especially because the cast is full of GUH with a side of *drool*). If only I could convince someone to go with me... (Am I the only one who hates going to the movie theater alone? I like to make it a social outing or something.) (referring, of course, to the new Star Trek movie)

*Summer Watch: I'm horrible about juggling a bunch of shows or rushing through series within a few days/weeks, but I do try to watch at least one series (all of its aired episodes) over the summer. Two summers ago I watched Farscape and last year was Bones, so I've had a good track record with falling in love with shows this way so far. Which one shall I pick for Summer 2009? I'll be out of the country for about a month towards the end of summer, so I wonder if it may be a bit too ambitious of me to take on Buffy. I know quite a bit about the show and could easily carry on a conversation about it, but I have never seen it in its entirety. And I have been told from reliable sources that it is worth seeing in full (well, more or less excluding season one). Hmmmmm.

*Doctor Who: Finally, I leave you with a link to this lovely picspam demonstrating how Rose/Nine:Beauty/the Beast. ♥!
