I fell asleep watching
Main Hoon Na last night, and it may or may not have seeped into my dream. Maybe even a lot of it did. In the film, Shahrukh Khan* plays an army major who disguises himself as a college student to protect the General's daughter from a terrorist and to search for his long-lost half-brother. So in my dream, SRK was the new student in one of my high school classes, and I totally tried to hit on him and wanted to impress the guy with my "extensive knowledge on both metaphysics and childhood disabilities" (the latter of which I'm studying about now and the former of which just sounded more impressive, I suppose...). The only fun part of the dream was the girls versus boys kickball game during gym class, but I woke up thanking God it was a dream because I made a complete fool of myself flailing all over SRK. Why can't I just make-out with guys in my dreams? My subconscious just never even lets me go there... *siiiigh*
Main Hoon Na was certainly not a masterpiece, but it's tongue-and-cheek humor was fun and I found the three leading characters (leaving out the villain, of course) likable. The Matrix spoofs, when Lucky is singing on top of the roof and then you see Ram has him secured with a rope, the way Shahrukh's character was compelled to burst into song every time his love interest was around him, and a few other scenes had me literally LOLing, and the ending credits were so cute and creative. Were there references to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or was that just me? I was already half-asleep an hour into the film (starting a 3 hours long movie at 1 a.m. is really not all that wise...), so it could have just been my sleepy imagination. Huh.
And something I love about Bollywood movies is how the men can be openly affectionate (even toward one another) and it doesn't effeminate them in the least! In the title song, Ram is singing about his love for his brother and how he wishes he could be close to him. Aww, *wibbles*

K3G features brotherly love in spades as well. And speaking of K3G, I took notes while watching it. Not like anyone cares and I don't even know why I did it, but a few things struck out to me, I guess? Everything about the movie is so opulent--the cast, the songs, the costumes, the emotions, even its length--that it *almost* made me forget that there is almost no plot going on, haha. I say this affectionately though because ♥.
Believe it or not, I do have a bunch of movies lying around that do not star SRK. It just so happens that I'm watching them according to the due dates, and hey, is it my fault if he's in so many Hindi films??? ;P
